Solar Panels Part 1: Safe and Renewable Energy

Solar panel installation can help you to make a difference in one of the challenges we face in this century. In addition to desertification, water resources, and climate change, there is another problem we have:  sources of energy.  Part two of this series will cover solar power for homes, and part three will cover solar power for businesses.

It’s estimated that fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas will be largely depleted within 50 years.  As we live in a technological society, we need more and more energy sources.  Nuclear disasters such as Chernobyl and Fukushima are still showing devastating effects on the environment.  Living in Arizona, we obviously do not have any access to tidal power, and wind power is at best a limited possibility.  With the water levels in reservoirs dropping, hydroelectric power will start to become prohibitively expensive.  However, we do have abundant sunshine, which is where solar panel installation in Mesa comes in.

The idea of near or total energy independence is very appealing.  With solar panels, you are not as reliant on power companies.  And with energy rates skyrocketing, that is a good thing.  It’s estimated that within the next 5-10 years, the cost of electricity in a three bedroom home will rise by as much as 30%.  And unlike coal power plants, or plants that use nuclear power, solar power is one of the safest sources of renewable energy around.  And solar is on the rise.

Solar Panels are Showing Up Everywhere

Solar panels are popping up on the roofs of corporate centers.  Covered parking awnings at ASU and throughout the Phoenix area are now starting to sport a new addition.  That’s right, solar panels.  Considering that parking awnings are almost always either angled or flat, they are a perfect place for solar.  The same holds true for the roof of a skyscraper. Even some vacant lots are starting to get solar panels.

Instead of looking towards the future with dread, why not look at it as a challenge to be overcome.  One of the challenges that we can beat is new sources of energy.  And solar panel installation is one of the best ways to start. We invite you to learn more about our Solar Awnings as well. These are incredible money saving additions to your home or business!
